A PAIR OF 1951 GARELLI MOSQUITO 38A ENGINES
1. in a French 1940 ALVIA FRAME
2. in a 1950 British RUDGE FRAME
Garelli Mosquito 38A engine on 1940 Alvia Cycle Frame. Completely restored.
I bought this delightful cyclemotor from a good friend in France. Usually we do exchanges, but he had a lot of money invested in this one so I had to pay him for it.
The engine has been rebuilt, and the frame too, using original parts.
It has new Michelin tyres, an Optima saddle, Chantecler bell, and period lighting kit.
I’ll be collecting it from him on my next trip over to France and I look forward to getting it home and on the road.

Here’s the Mosquito settling into its new home in the East Sussex hills

I have another Mosquito, a 1951 Mosquito on a Ladies Rudge Cycle

This is a very attractive 1940’s Rudge Witworth frame sporting a 1951 Garelli Mosquito 38cc 2-stroke cycle-attchment engine.

The Mosquito enjoys a good reputation for reliability and power.

This one has been rebuilt, the cycle frame is in good order, it starts easily, and rides well.

I’ll be taking it for an MOT test over the next few weeks, after which I’ll get it registered.
